United Record Press

By Sean V.

For the vinyl enthusiasts out there, you might enjoy checking out some pictures from my recent tour of United Record Pressing in Nashville, TN. Really cool experience to watch how a great audiophile piece can go from a bucket of vinyl pellets to a 12", 180 gram piece of pure audio bliss. Ahh..

For more on the planet check out the URP site.

Below is video of a machine pressing a vinyl. Sorry if it's a little shaky, I'm not the best camera person out there.

You can access some pictures here.

Legit!

How the hell did you get into this place?

I was down for meetings for my other job working in indie retail. This was an activity for group during our last day.

I believe the tours are open to the public (I'm more than positive), so if you get the chance to go for it. I was an awe just hearing about the history of the plant and the whole process that goes into vinyl.

Really cool experience. If you check some of the photos closely, you'll see some Pearl Jam vinyl. We were there when they were pressing it for the upcoming anniversary box set. So cool...
